The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in partnership with the Republic of Maldives organize the First International Forum on Promoting Integrity in Tourism Sector

The Saudi-Maldives forum on Integrity in the Tourism Sector was inaugurated in Male' on 6th May 2025. The forum is jointly organized by Saudi Arabia's Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, and the Maldives' Anti-Corruption Commission, in collaboration with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of H.E Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef, Vice President of the Republic of Maldives, H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation,, H.E Mazin Bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmoos, President of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Mr. Adam Shamil, President of the Anti-Corruption Commission of the Republic of Maldives.

The two-day International Forum on Integrity, held for anti-corruption organizations from the member nations of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, is attended by more than 180 participants.

His Royal Highness Prince Fahad Saud Alshalan of Saudi Arabia paid a courtesy call on His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on 5th May 2025, at the President’s Office.

During the courtesy call, the President expressed appreciation for the longstanding and valued relationship between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia, and thanked His Royal Highness for visiting the Maldives and gracing the occasion of the Joint Venture Agreement Signing Ceremony for the establishment of the MIFC between the Ministry of Finance and Planning and MBS Global Investments.

Maldives Hosts IMCTC’s Program on "Building the Capacity of Imams and Preachers"

Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) launched a training program for Islamic Dawah personnel as part of Moderation initiative titled: "Capacity building for Imams and Preachers".

The launch ceremony was held in the presence of H.E. Dr. Mohammed Shaheem Ali Saeed, Minister of Islamic Affairs of the Republic of Maldives and H.E. Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, Secretary-General of IMCTC.

H.E. the Minister of Islamic Affairs stated during the launch ceremony that the program, organized by IMCTC in cooperation with the National Counter Terrorism Centre of the Republic of Maldives (NCTC), is a highly important initiative for enhancing coordination and cooperation in countering terrorism and extremism. He noted that terrorism is an ideological disease that must be confronted through awareness and the promotion of moderation in accordance with the principles of Islam.

The training program is part of IMCTC's strategic initiatives aimed at deepening the moderate discourse and countering extremist ideology.
