The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, held official talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud, in Riyadh today. 

During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, both Ministers reaffirmed the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and emphasized on the importance of continued collaboration. 

Foreign Minister Dr. Khaleel expressed appreciation for the longstanding friendship and cooperation with Saudi Arabia, highlighting shared Islamic values and common interests that form the very foundation of the partnership. Minister Dr. Khaleel further expressed gratitude to the kingdom for the continued support and assistance from Saudi Arabia throughout the development journey of the Maldives. 
 

Both Ministers also agreed to explore further opportunities for cooperation bilaterally and continue to work closely in multilateral forums.   

Foreign Minister Dr. Khaleel was accompanied to the meeting by Ambassador of Maldives to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Sareer, Secretary, Bilateral Dr. Hala Hameed, Joint Secretary Ms. Khadeeja Najeeha and Counsellor at the Embassy of Maldives in Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Fazeel.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Dr. Abdullah Khaleel visited the Embassy of Maldives in Riyadh on 29th January 2025. He was received by Ambassador Sareer and staff of the Embassy. During the visit, he also met the Maldivian community resident in Riyadh. At the meeting held at the embassy, the Minister interacted with the Maldivians and expressed appreciation for their contributions to the growth and progress of Maldives.

Controller General of Immigration, Mr. Sham'aan Waheed visited Maldives Embassy in Riyadh on 22nd January 2025. He was received by Ambassador Ahmed Sareer and staff at the Embassy. The Controller General of Immigration was visiting Riyadh on an official visit at the invitation of Major General Dr. Saleh bin Saad Al-Murabba, Director General of Passports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
